
If you have spent some time on this site, visited our friends, and read about the people we work with, you know Restoration Village was established as a nonprofit in 2003 and it has enabled us to more effectively work with people in the margins. We are not after fame here, but truly believe this is what we have to offer people and the world. We have a sense of urgency when it comes to pursuing people, restoring relationships and releasing people’s artistic expression and faith in a world that is mostly condemning.
In addition to regular monthly partnership, Tracy is currently seeking partnership for some specific peacemaking and restoration initiatives planned though 2008 and 2009. All three are geared towards peace building and restoration, believing songs and expression can be the fruit of and catalyst for justice in the world. They are:
Amahoro is a word of traditional African origin meaning peace. Although used widely across Africa, it has particularly deep and significant meaning in places like Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo, where violence and genocide have inflicted unimaginable pain and suffering. This is a painting from La Red Del Camino, a network of communities throughout Latin America believing that a different world is possible, and working to manifest the kingdom Jesus spoke of. Communities from LRDC represent just a few of the friendships that have blossomed over the last several years as I have been working and traveling through South America.
