Amahoro Africa identifies and connects African leaders by creating theological, relational and transformational space.

TRACY'S WORK AND INVITATION:

In March of '08, I was able to meet Claude Nikondeha, the founder of Amahoro-Africa. Amahoro is a word of traditional African origin meaning peace. Although used widely across Africa, it has particularly deep and significant meaning in places like Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo, where violence and genocide have inflicted unimaginable pain and suffering. When people from various tribes embrace, shake hands or kiss, "amahoro" is used as a greeting to express a deep hope for peace to come into their world. I am going to Sout Africa to share songs of peace, and also hope very much the trip will birth another collection of songs that may catalyze reconciliation and our call to care for one another.

Following the Amahoro gathering in South Africa, I will travel with the Nikondeha's to Burundi and tour to a number of refugee camps, sharing songs and friendship, meeting people and learning, creating together and walking towards wholeness and restoration.

If you feel inspired by or connected to this work, would you please consider partnership? There are some larger costs associated with preparation, travel, and possible CD production. Please designate giving to "Amahoro 2009."

Tracy is always happy to talk in person to anyone or any group interested in learning more, or starting regular giving. You can EMAIL TRACY or call 303-881-0985.
