Martyr
I saw a girl, said she was looking for a savior
Said she found a book that told here there’s one who loves her
This love filled her, she was no longer just a lost daughter
She walked so strong, bared her heart, bared her soul
She loved where there was hate
Though she knew the world she was not of the world
When they came she was teaching children to sing
She smiled at them as they closed her book
She reached out her hand and they tied her down
They tied her down
The world killed her for what she believed
Dug a hole to bury her
Now I live in the shadow of the martyr and the fear will end
I have Jesus set before my eyes
A wooden cross that shapes my sight
Though you say that it makes me blind I can see
I can see
God forgive you for disregarding me, God forgive you
God forgive me for all the things I have seen, God forgive me
