Jerusalem

I hear a whisper gently pulling and piercing all the same
A cloud of unknowing or the ecstasy of pain
And I feel my heart breaking, something stronger moving in
Peace beyond my questioning becomes a sword in my hand

I haven’t taken a step yet but I am on my way
I don’t have the words yet but I will know just what to say
The shadow above my head has all but passed away
A new horizon is rising today

I’m going to Jerusalem where the clouds don’t fill my head
On the road to Jerusalem where all the hungry babes are fed
And I will drink from the living water oh precious spring of life
On the road to Jerusalem I will walk, I will fight

The road less traveled that changes everyday
To find the strength to walk now I need the courage to pray
Though it seems at times that demons lead my way
I will not give up I will not break down, I feel you just the same

I haven’t taken a step yet but I am on my way
I don’t have the words yet but I will know just what to say
The shadow above my head has all but passed away
A new horizon is rising today

I will see in Jerusalem the miracle of faith
I will hear in Jerusalem the silence gone away
I will feel in Jerusalem the beat of my own heart
I sill sing in Jerusalem a new song

This breath is not my own-These words are not my song-These hands are not my own-The world I do not own-To Jerusalem I go-To Jerusalem I belong-To Jerusalem I go-I’m going home

I will touch in Jerusalem the hands that made my own
I will heal in Jerusalem all the pain that’s gone on
I will know in Jerusalem I am Home, I am Home

I will see in Jerusalem the miracle of faith
I will hear in Jerusalem the silence gone away
I will feel in Jerusalem the beat of my own heart

I sill sing in Jerusalem a new song
